Delhi Customs officials arrested an Indian passenger traveling from Dubai to New Delhi for gold smuggling. Authorities shared the details on social media, emphasizing their dedication to cracking down on smuggling activities.
Customs officers conducted a detailed search of the passenger’s baggage and personal belongings. During the inspection, they discovered two rectangular-shaped pouches containing gold paste weighing approximately 2,723 grams. The passenger had hidden the pouches in his undergarments, secured with silver adhesive tape.
Upon further examination, officials extracted four rectangular gold bars from the paste. These bars weighed 2,491 grams and carried an estimated value of over ₹18 million. The smuggling attempt highlights the creative tactics used by individuals to evade security measures.
