Sharjah Municipality has announced free public parking on December 2 and 3 (Monday and Tuesday) for the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations. However, parking zones marked by blue information signs will remain paid as usual, even during public holidays. These zones are always subject to fees, regardless of holidays, ensuring availability in high-demand areas.
The free parking initiative provides relief to residents and visitors during the busy festive period. Meanwhile, Dubai has also declared free parking for the public holidays, excluding multi-storey parking. In Dubai, free parking will begin on Monday, December 2, and continue until the end of Tuesday, December 3. Since Sundays are already free, Dubai residents can enjoy three days of complimentary parking.
Extended Weekend for Eid Al Etihad
Residents across the UAE will enjoy a four-day weekend as December 2 and 3 have been designated paid holidays for both public and private sectors. Schools, nurseries, and universities in Dubai will also remain closed during this time, with normal operations resuming on Wednesday, December 4.
Parking in Sharjah During Holidays
In Sharjah, drivers should remain cautious about the blue-sign zones, as fees will still apply even during the holiday period. These zones are strategically located in high-traffic areas, ensuring availability for those willing to pay for convenient access. Drivers should check signage carefully to avoid fines. Free parking applies only to regular public parking spaces.
