The 15th Global Soccer Dubai Awards has reached a historic milestone with 70 million votes cast in the first round. This record-breaking achievement highlights the event’s growing global influence and sets the stage for an exciting gala. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on December 27 at Atlantis, The Palm, alongside the 19th Dubai International Sports Conference organized by the Dubai Sports Council.

 

Record-Setting Voting in Global Soccer Dubai Awards

The first round of public voting closed on Monday, attracting double the votes compared to the same stage in 2023. Fans from over 200 countries actively participated, showcasing the event’s widespread appeal. Moreover, the Global Soccer Dubai Awards mobile app has exceeded 1.5 million downloads, emphasizing its significance among football enthusiasts worldwide.

 

Fierce Competition Among Finalists

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is aiming to retain his Best Men’s Player title. However, he faces stiff competition from his teammate Rodri, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and football icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

 

Forward and Midfielder Categories

Haaland also features in the 10-man shortlist for the Best Forward category. Other nominees include Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, and City’s Phil Foden. Meanwhile, the Best Midfielder category includes contenders like Jude Bellingham, Rodri, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Granit Xhaka.

 

Women’s and Club Awards

The Best Women’s Player category features 12 finalists, including Spain’s World Cup stars Aitana Bonmatí and Salma Paralluelo. Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen also joins the race. For the Best Men’s Club award, Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are among the finalists. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are vying for the Best Women’s Club title.

 

Final Voting and Selection Process

Final winners will be decided by a combination of fan votes and decisions from the Globe Soccer Jury. This jury includes football legends like Marcello Lippi, Francesco Totti, Iker Casillas, and Luis Figo.
