Sharjah to host events on UAE’s 53rd Union Day celebrations

Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Committee has unveiled an extensive programme of events to commemorate the UAE’s 53rd National Day, celebrating the nation’s rich history of resilience, unity, and progress. The series of festivities will run from November 21 to December 2, highlighting Sharjah’s cultural and historical heritage at various key sites.

 

Celebrating Unity and Heritage

 

Union Day represents a significant occasion for UAE citizens and residents to renew their loyalty to the country and its leadership. All seven emirates come together in a spirit of solidarity, showcasing their shared pride and commitment to national development.

 

Sharjah’s comprehensive celebration programme aims to evoke a deep sense of patriotism and appreciation for the UAE’s achievements. Chairman Al Midfa expressed his gratitude to the Executive Council of Sharjah, under the leadership of Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, for their unwavering support in organizing the events. He also acknowledged the dedication of committee members and partnering organizations that contribute to these meaningful activities.

 

Event Highlights Across Sharjah

 

Sharjah National Park (November 21 – December 2): Visitors can enjoy a variety of artistic and entertainment performances, interactive competitions, and educational workshops. These events will see active participation from government departments and local authorities.

 

Al Dhaid City (November 27 – December 1): A grand national march on November 27 will commence at the Grand Mosque and conclude at Al Dhaid Fort, featuring government entities and school students. The celebrations will continue with folklore performances from November 28 to December 1.

 

Al Bataeh Area (November 28 – 30): This region will host heritage-themed celebrations, underscoring national identity and allegiance. The activities will include traditional parades featuring participation from government bodies, local residents, schools, and art troupes, along with horse and classic car parades and folklore performances.

 

The Union Bus: A unique “Union Bus” will traverse residential areas, distributing flags and special National Day gifts, spreading the festive spirit throughout Sharjah.

 

Special Events in Mleiha

 

Mleiha’s Heritage Village will come alive on November 21 with a lineup of activities including a national march, folklore performances, a theatrical play, competitions, and a communal dinner. The site will feature a dedicated heritage area showcasing a traditional Bedouin tent, local family product displays, and government service presentations.

 

Sharjah’s commitment to celebrating the UAE’s Union Day underscores the emirate’s dedication to preserving the nation’s cultural legacy while inspiring unity and national pride among its people.
