The 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) became a dynamic learning environment for content creators, thanks to an engaging iPhone photography workshop led by acclaimed content creator Muhammad Alchaar.
Titled “Mastering iPhone Photography: From Basics to Professional Level,” the workshop drew a diverse crowd of eager participants looking to enhance their photography skills using just their iPhones. Alchaar, a Syrian content creator with more than 231,000 Instagram followers (@chaar.mo) and over 10 years of experience in the UAE, shared expert tips and practical techniques for capturing high-quality images.
One of the key lessons Alchaar emphasized was the importance of cleaning the iPhone lens—a simple yet often overlooked step for achieving clear, sharp images. He also showcased the iPhone’s cinematic mode, demonstrating how this feature enables users to create professional-grade video content effortlessly.
“Lighting is everything in photography,” Alchaar noted, stressing how light can transform the mood and quality of an image. He also highlighted the significance of quality audio when creating video content. Participants learned advanced composition techniques and how to leverage iPhone’s zoom capabilities, such as the 0.5 wide-angle lens, perfect for capturing expansive scenes like the iconic Burj Khalifa.
The workshop delved into professional editing methods, guiding attendees on enhancing color tones, sharpening details, and producing refined final images. Attendees praised the valuable insights gained, with 21-year-old photographer Salah Uddin from Syria saying, “I’ve learned how to apply the rule of thirds and creatively use light and shadow. This workshop has been a fantastic learning experience.”
Eleven-year-old Lara Mohammed expressed her enthusiasm: “I’ve always enjoyed taking photos, but now I know how to make them look even better. I can’t wait to try out these tips!” The workshop’s inclusive approach provided practical knowledge suitable for participants of all ages and experience levels.
Adel Qabaweh, a 20-year-old content creator specializing in lifestyle and car photography, found the session particularly inspiring. “I usually work with a DSLR, but today’s insights on iPhone editing and cinematic mode have given me fresh ideas to elevate my content,” he shared.
The iPhone photography workshop at Sharjah International Book Fair proved to be an inspiring and educational event, equipping attendees with the tools to create standout visual content using their smartphones.
