The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has partnered with the Roads and Transport Authorities (RTA) of Sharjah and Dubai to provide convenient and free transportation for visitors traveling from Dubai to the 43rd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2024).
As part of this initiative, Sharjah RTA will operate ten boats, offering complimentary rides from Dubai and Sharjah directly to Expo Centre Sharjah, where a special docking area has been set up for the duration of the fair.
Badr Mohammed Saab, Director of Government Communications at SBA, stated: “This new partnership aims to enhance the experience for SIBF 2024 visitors, ensuring smooth and easy access from Dubai. The fair is a significant annual event attracting thousands of visitors from the UAE and beyond. By providing free boat services from Sharjah Aquarium Station to a temporary dock at Expo Centre Sharjah, we are prioritizing guest convenience and promoting eco-friendly transport, underscoring our commitment to accessibility and visitor satisfaction.”
Dubai RTA will also support the initiative with scheduled daily water transport services between Dubai’s Al Ghubaiba Marine Station and Sharjah Aquarium Station, ensuring seamless travel between the two emirates throughout the event.
**Weekend Schedule (Friday to Sunday):**
– Departures from Sharjah Aquarium: 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 9:00 pm
– Return trips from Dubai’s Al Ghubaiba Station: 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 10:00 pm
**Weekday Schedule (Monday to Thursday):**
– Departures from Sharjah Aquarium: 7:00 am, 8:30 am, 1:00 pm, 4:45 pm, and 6:15 pm
– Return trips from Dubai’s Al Ghubaiba Station: 7:45 am, 10:00 am, 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7:00 pm
This initiative aims to make travel more convenient and eco-friendly, enhancing the overall visitor experience at one of the UAE’s most anticipated cultural events.
