His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has given the green light to a comprehensive five-year Dubai internal roads development plan (2025-2029), as announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Sunday.
The ambitious plan includes 21 projects that will lay down 634 kilometers of new roads across 12 residential, commercial, and industrial areas in Dubai, with an investment of Dh3.7 billion. Dubai internal roads plan initiative underscores Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure to support Dubai’s population growth, urban expansion, and residents’ well-being.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, highlighted, “The Five-Year Internal Roads Development Plan targets 12 areas with urbanization rates between 30% and 80%. Starting in 2025, new internal roads will be built in Nad El Sheba 3 and Al Amardi, supporting the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment project, which includes 482 housing units.”
This strategic plan is part of Dubai’s broader efforts to advance infrastructure development, improve connectivity, and boost the quality of life for its residents.
