For the first time, Dubai is hosting the prestigious ‘The Best Chef Awards,’ a global culinary event now in its eighth edition, which will run through November 6. The event spans multiple venues across the city and will culminate with a grand awards ceremony at the Asateer Tent, Atlantis The Palm.
Supported by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the event celebrates culinary talent from around the world. Attendees can experience workshops, panel discussions, and the anticipated ‘Food Meets Science’ conference, where chefs and experts will explore innovative trends and techniques in gastronomy. Renowned chefs, including Vaughan Mabee, Albert Adrià, and Dubai’s own Mohammed Orfali and Himanshu Saini, are set to present their insights on sustainability and culinary creativity.
This year, a new tiered rating system introduces “knife” rankings to signify excellence in various culinary dimensions. Chefs will be rated on factors such as flavor mastery, cooking technique, and innovation, with rankings of one to three knives awarded based on votes from industry professionals.
The event highlights Dubai’s growing reputation as a culinary hub and promises an enriching experience for food lovers and professionals alike, emphasizing both tradition and forward-thinking in the world of fine dining.
