Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Hindu temple to host inaugural Diwali

Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Hindu temple is set to celebrate its first Diwali and Hindu New Year with a grand, multi-day event. Known for its exquisite architecture and spiritual atmosphere, the temple has welcomed 1.5 million visitors since its opening seven months ago and has received several national and international awards for design, culture, and engineering.

According to Gulf news, celebrations will begin with Dhanteras on October 29, featuring online rituals to seek blessings for wealth and well-being. Diwali festivities will follow on October 31, with prayers held at the temple from 9 am to 9 pm. The event will conclude with Annakut on November 2 and 3, showcasing hundreds of vegetarian dishes creatively displayed to represent traditional symbols such as peacocks, Mount Kailash, the Ram Setu bridge, and lotuses in the desert.

With large crowds expected, visitors are required to register in advance on www.mandir.ae. Shuttle buses will run frequently from Al Shahama F1 Parking to the temple to facilitate smooth access. Guests are advised not to bring bags, metal objects, or valuables and should plan for a minimum of two hours to complete their visit.

This inaugural celebration promises to blend spirituality, culture, and tradition, offering a unique experience for both residents and tourists.
