UAE Weather: Fog Warning in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi

Dubai: On Tuesday morning, residents in Al Ain and the eastern regions of Abu Dhabi woke up to foggy conditions. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a yellow and red alert due to heavy fog in the central areas of the country.

An alert released by NCM this morning indicated that fog would significantly reduce visibility, with a further decline possible in some coastal and inland areas until 9 AM.

Reports of fog were received from the Sweihan, Alkhazna, Nahil, and Al Sad areas of Al Ain, while fog was also observed in Abu Dhabi’s Al Ajban, Al Khatim, and Razeen regions.

This morning, parts of Jebel Ali in Dubai also experienced fog.

Motorists have been advised to maintain a safe distance while driving. They are instructed not to use their hazard lights, adhere to the speed limit, and stay in their lane while driving.

According to NCM, the current weather is due to a weak surface low-pressure system combined with a ridge of high-pressure in the upper air.

Strong winds are expected in the interior and mountainous areas, with speeds reaching up to 35 km/h.

NCM’s weekend forecast predicts clear to partly cloudy conditions across the country. Temperatures are likely to increase, with higher humidity at night, and the chance of fog and mist forming in coastal and inland areas, continuing until Sunday night.

In the interior regions, temperatures could rise to 40 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature, expected in the mountains, could drop to 19 degrees Celsius.
