As Israel continues its ground offensive in Lebanon against Hezbollah, it has also targeted other areas in the Middle East.
In Damascus, an Israeli strike killed well-known Syrian TV anchor Safaa Ahmed and two others, according to Syrian state news agency SANA. The attack, carried out with drones and planes around 2 am, targeted the area from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights.
Syria’s defense ministry stated that their air defense systems intercepted most of the missiles and drones, but three civilians and nine others were injured.
Videos showed explosions near Syria’s Telecom building and a burning car, but the exact location of Ahmed’s death remains unclear. Israel’s military has not commented on these reports.
