Free public parking will be available in Sharjah on Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday on Sunday, September 15th.
Sharjah Municipality states that this exception does not include the seven-day paid public parking areas, which are in operation all week and on official holidays, and are marked by blue parking signs.
In the majority of Islamic nations, such as the Gulf nations, the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) birthday is celebrated on the 12th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444, the third month in the Islamic calendar.
Following this holiday, UAE citizens will enjoy a lengthy break in December for National Day. December 2 is a Monday, while December 3 is a Tuesday. When paired with the Saturday-Sunday weekend, it becomes a four-day vacation.
Parking fees are required on public holidays.
The Municipality declared on September 2 that parking around Muwaileh commercial area in Sharjah will now be charged all week, including public holidays, to control the high demand for parking in this important residential and commercial area.
The Public Parking Management of Sharjah Municipality has placed blue directional signs throughout the area to alert drivers about the updated timings and fees.
