The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert for severe fog (visibility less than 1,000 metres) and a yellow alert for mist and fog with poor visibility on Tuesday. Some drivers in certain areas of the UAE were driving very slowly on Tuesday morning because of heavy fog.
State troopers are alerting drivers to use caution because of the fog and limited visibility. Drivers should observe the new speed limits posted on the electronic signs. In response to the situation, they have created a kind of speed control system, and have lowered the speed limit to 80 km/h on many of the main roads and streets in Abu Dhabi.
According to the National Meteorological Centre (NCM), a blanket of fog shrouded many key regions on Tuesday morning. Impacted areas in Dubai consisted of areas close to Al Maktoum International Airport, Expo, Jebel Ali, and Al Minhad. The fog was reported in Abu Dhabi on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road from Al Mirfa to Al Ruwais, as well as in Habshan, Madinat Zayed, Remah (Al Dhafra Region), Al Khaznah, and Sweihan (Al Ain). Plus there was still some fog on Saih Sudaira Road towards Ghantout, in Al Khatim, and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road from Umm Al Quwain to Ras Al Khaimah.
Slow conditions may make you feel sick this morning. Drivers should expect slow traffic due to lower speed limits and bad visibility on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and Emirates Road.

September is supposed to be the last month of the season. Nights will continue to get cooler, but the bigger cooldown won’t be until about two weeks from now.
