Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, ceremoniously launched the Arabic Cultural Institute at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy, emphasizing that it will contribute significantly to the cultural exchange between the Arab world and Western culture.
At the reception sponsored by the university, Sheikh Sultan expressed joy with the fruitful collaboration with exemplification between Sharjah and the university after it was formed around seven years ago, which led to the development of the new institute.
He reiterated that it was of significant sociolinguistic consequence of the venture in promoting the protraction of the Arabic language and its cultural awareness.
In his remarks, Sheikh Sultan mentioned the results of a recent study he engaged in regarding the Arabic language and its historical timeline. He revealed that he showed evidence of a connection among early human patterns of migration and the Eastern Arabic language and this has led to him finding evidence in Sharjah as well.
He also let the audience in on his plan to put together evidence of a comprehensive record of the Arabic language to promote broader understanding of its historical capacity.
The audience also witnessed a performance by the ARABCOR choir made up of university students who have been taking Arabic language.
Following the reception, his royal highness visited the Sharjah Archaeology Exhibition where artifacts from various eras were on display, which displayed the emirate’s commitment to preserve the presentation for the community and its archaeological history.
The Arabic Cultural Institute based in Milan, Italy is the first of its kind which aims to foster the connection between Arab culture and Western culture leading to the collaborative behavior of the both. The institute contributes predominantly, but differently, takes the excursion to sustain the cultural exchange and assimilation of the Arabic language and literature, which also demonstrates cooperative behavior; supportive possibilities they may have.
The organization will also lend its support to shared efforts that develop cooperation to unite Arab and Italian publishers, organize events that promote Arabic language and culture, and expand the Arabic Language Festival in Milan.
