Fog alert: UAE drivers warned of reduced visibility

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warned drivers about fog causing reduced visibility on Tuesday morning.

The weather department issued a red alert, warning UAE residents of reduced horizontal visibility at times until 8.30 in the morning.

Abu Dhabi Police advised drivers to be careful because of poor visibility caused by the fog. Motorists are advised to adhere to the fluctuating speed restrictions indicated on digital signage boards.

On Monday, Wadi Hilo in Sharjah experienced heavy rain and hail. Moderate rain was also observed on Kalba Shokah Road in the Eastern Region, with light showers in areas near Shawka-Al Muinai Road in Ras Al Kaimah.

However, unlike the rainy weather in some areas of the country yesterday, today most residents in the UAE can anticipate a mostly sunny day with some clouds.

In the internal regions, temperatures can soar to 48ºC, while in the mountains they can drop as low as 25ºC.

Moisture levels will increase, persisting through the night and into Wednesday morning. The met also pointed out the possibility of fog or mist developing in certain areas, particularly along the coast.

There will be light to moderate winds in the country, which may strengthen occasionally. There will be calm seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
