Pakistani cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi on Monday shared the first look of his newborn with his fans on social media.
Shaheen and his wife, Ansha, became parents for the first time on Saturday while the Pakistani fast bowler was with his teammates playing in the ongoing two-Test series against Bangladesh.
Shaheen took to his official Instagram on Monday to share his first photo with newborn son Aliyaar. The couple were pictured grasping their son’s hand.
The pacer added a sincere statement with the post.
“My heart is overflowing and my life has greatly improved. 24/08/2024 will forever hold a unique place in our hearts. Shaheen wrote, “Greetings to the world, my son Aliyaar Afridi.”
In the caption, the 24-year-old cricketer called his wife the “backbone” of his small family and also thanked her for “every struggle and hardship she had to go through”.
I appreciate all the kind wishes and prayers that are being sent to us. He ended by asking for prayers for his small family.
Shaheen is set to participate in an “optional training session” with his team in Islamabad tomorrow before Pakistan’s second Test against Bangladesh on August 30 in Rawalpindi.
Shaheen married Ansha, Shahid Afridi’s daughter, in February 2023 during their nikkah ceremony at a mosque in Karachi, with close relatives from both families in attendance.
In September 2023, the couple had their wedding at a nearby venue in Karachi and the Valima reception in Islamabad.
