UAE weather update: NCM forecasts rain, cooler weather

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Saturday predicted more rain in certain areas of the country this afternoon, with showers set to persist until Sunday.

There is a chance of light rain in the eastern and southern parts of the Emirates today, as thick clouds are expected to form in certain areas. Although it’s not certain if hailstones will return, the rainy weather is forecasted to provide some respite from the intense heat.

In spite of the rainfall, a majority of the nation will experience mostly clear skies with some clouds. There is a forecast for gentle to moderate winds, with speeds between 15 and 30kmph, possibly increasing to 40kmph, resulting in dusty conditions in specific areas.

Abu Dhabi may experience temperatures reaching as high as 47 degrees Celsius, while Dubai could reach approximately 42 degrees Celsius in terms of temperature. At the same time, the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will encounter gentle waves, resulting in relatively tranquil sea conditions.
