As part of a campaign to enhance women’s privacy and security, the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, has issued instructions to establish a women’s-only beach in Khorfakkan.
A 500-meter beach in the Lulua’iyah area will give women a place where they can enjoy the sun, sand, and sea alone without other disturbances.
It will be further equipped with some more amenities to add up to the comfort and value addition at the site, such as a beach café, medical clinic, and a prayer room.
Elsewhere, the Sharjah Ruler has ordered a new pedestrian bridge to be built that links Al Bardi 6 with Al Batha areas in the city of Khorfakkan. The bridge will promote the movement of residents to the two areas, therefore improving their livelihood.
While speaking on Sharjah’s Direct Line radio program, Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of RTA Sharjah, confirmed the news and informed that the changes will also be done on the internal roads in the Hayawa area.
These are projects of the Sharjah government towards the achievements of improving the lives of the residents and the tourists, an effort that unfolds safe and well-kept public environments.
