The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued a traffic advisory for motorists in Dubai, warning of potential delays on key routes due to scheduled road maintenance.
Jumeirah Street Maintenance
Motorists can expect delays on Jumeirah Street starting from Saturday, as maintenance work is set to take place at different intervals over the coming weeks:
- August 10-12, 2024: Between Al Manara Street and Umm Al Sheif Road in both directions.
- August 17-19, 2024: Between the intersections of Al Manara Street and Al Thanya Street in both directions.
- August 24-26, 2024: Near Mercato Shopping Mall in both directions.
Drivers are advised to follow traffic signs and consider alternative routes to avoid congestion and ensure timely arrival at their destinations.
Dubai-Al Ain Road Maintenance
Additionally, the RTA announced that maintenance work on the bridge at the fifth intersection with Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road will cause delays on Dubai-Al Ain Road. This work will be carried out during weekdays from 10 PM to 6 AM, starting August 9 and continuing until September 9, 2024.
- For Al Ain to Dubai commuters: Traffic will be diverted to Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Hatta, with a U-turn at the first roundabout leading back to Dubai.
- For Dubai to Al Ain commuters: Traffic will be redirected to Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Jebel Ali Port, with a U-turn at the first roundabout leading back to Al Ain.
Emirates Road Congestion
The RTA has also alerted drivers to potential traffic congestion on Emirates Road due to ongoing maintenance. The delays are expected between the intersections of Hatta Road and Al Ain Road, affecting traffic from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. This maintenance is scheduled to continue until August 31, 2024.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, adhere to posted traffic signs, and consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
