Abu Dhabi Police have announced a reduction in the speed limit on a section of Sweihan Road, specifically the Telal Sweihan-Sweihan stretch towards Abu Dhabi.
The new speed limit is now set at 100km/h. This adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and reduce traffic accidents across the emirate. Motorists are urged to comply with the new speed limit and drive with caution to ensure the safety of all road users.
The initiative is aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring the well-being of everyone on the road. The updated speed limit is clearly marked on the affected roads, making it easier for drivers to adjust their speeds accordingly.
In related news, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced maintenance work on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, which is expected to cause delays. The maintenance will take place daily from 10 pm to 6 am on weekdays, starting from August 9 until September 9, 2024. The work will focus on the bridge at the fifth intersection with Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road, affecting traffic in both directions.
For drivers heading from Al Ain to Dubai, traffic will be rerouted to a free exit onto Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Hatta, with a U-turn at the first roundabout leading back towards Dubai. Similarly, those traveling from Dubai to Al Ain will be redirected to Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Jebel Ali Port, with a U-turn at the first roundabout to resume their journey towards Al Ain.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays and contribute to smoother traffic flow during this period.
