Residents throughout the United Arab Emirates can anticipate an increase in rainfall and a noticeable decrease in temperatures today, as predicted by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The metropolitan areas of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, and Khor Fakkan have witnessed considerable precipitation, including hailstorms and thunderstorms. Certain localities have experienced overflowing wadis, in response to an orange alert for thunderstorms issued the previous day.
By early Wednesday morning, several regions of Fujairah had reported moderate to heavy rainfall. The Storm Centre has disseminated a video capturing the intensity of the rainfall across its social media channels.
According to the forecast issued by the NCM, the weather for today will fall between fair to partly cloudy, with an escalation of cloud cover anticipated in the eastern and southern areas, potentially culminating in further precipitation. Moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of Fujairah. Occasional, albeit strong, winds are projected, exacerbating dust blown dust conditions.
The marine environment will display conditions ranging from slight to moderate across the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Temperatures are anticipated to decrease to a minimum of 21°C in certain areas of the UAE, with a maximum of 46°C recorded in the more inland localities.
This episode of rainfall is projected to continue until Thursday, August 8. The meteorological conditions in the UAE are being shaped by the movement of the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) toward the country from the south, coupled with atmospheric pressure systems originating from the east, thereby fostering a consistent influx of cloud cover.
