Prior to considering the purchase of your ideal motorcycle, it’s important to acquire a motorcycle rider’s license. The procedure for obtaining one is comparable to getting a driver’s license, and even the expenses for classes and other fees are similar.
To qualify for a license:
- you must be at least 17 years old.
- Female students under 21 years old who are studying with a male instructor may need to provide a no-objection certificate from their sponsors.
To apply, you will need:
- An Emirates ID that is valid
- A copy of both your passport and a valid residence visa
- A report stating the results of your eye test
- A learner’s permit from the Roads and Transport Authority, which your driving school can help you obtain
- If you have a valid motorcycle licence from another country, you can submit a copy. Depending on specific conditions, your class hours may be reduced.
