The UAE has launched a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure the fair and safe development and use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Named the UAE Charter for the Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence, this initiative aims to establish robust principles and frameworks for applying advanced AI models, enhancing the relationship between humans and machines, and ensuring accessibility and benefits for all.
The UAE Charter for AI, introduced by the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, sets out to ensure compliance with laws related to AI development and usage. It reflects the UAE’s commitment to becoming a global leader in AI by promoting ethical and responsible AI practices.
Government’s AI Vision
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, highlighted the government’s efforts to transform the UAE into a global hub for AI solutions. He emphasized the importance of developing digital infrastructure and creating an integrated system that leverages AI across all vital sectors.
Al Olama stated that the UAE is at the forefront of raising awareness about AI’s significance and applications.
