The eighth edition of the Al Dhaid Date Festival has commenced at Expo Al Dhaid, offering visitors a chance to see the finest home-grown dates, lemons, and figs in the UAE. Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the festival brings together palm owners, farmers, industrialists, and families from across the UAE who are involved in the date industry.
Festival-goers can immerse themselves in a variety of dates and fruits, engage with local farmers, and learn about different cultivation practices. The event also features numerous competitions, contests, and heritage-themed activities, creating a vibrant and educational atmosphere.

One of the major highlights of the festival is the series of competitions offering valuable prizes to 130 winners across various categories. This year’s contests include “The Best Lemons,” “Fig Contest,” “The Most Beautiful Home-grown Dates” (exclusive for women), and a new children’s competition, “Ratb Al Kharaif Beauty.” These contests adhere to stringent criteria, ensuring the quality and purity of the dates and other produce.

Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; Salem Ali Salem Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council; Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA); and Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber, along with several board members and officials.
