Renowned actress and TV host Juggun Kazim shared harrowing details about her first marriage, revealing a history of domestic abuse that began just three weeks after her wedding.
Juggun disclosed that she endured twelve years of violence before finally escaping the abusive relationship.
Juggun Kazim, who has an 18-year-old son named Hamza from her first marriage, admitted that marrying her first husband was a mistake and that enduring the violence was also her fault. She described herself as short-tempered and naive, saying she was quickly drawn to her husband’s good looks, leading to their hasty marriage.
Recalling the early days of her marriage, Jagan revealed that she met her husband on one Sunday, their relationship was fixed by the next Sunday, and they were married before the third Sunday. However, by the third week of their marriage, the violence began.
The actress confessed that she was not pregnant when the abuse first started and regretted not leaving the relationship then. She endured the physical violence for a year and a half, during which her husband continually abused her.
Shockingly, she recounted an incident when she was seven months pregnant. Her husband violently stripped her and threw her out of their apartment, exposing her to the neighbors who eventually covered her with a blanket. This traumatic experience made her realize that she could have met a tragic end similar to that of Noor Muqaddam, a woman who was brutally murdered by her partner.
The TV host stressed that she is not afraid of death but fears a humiliating death. She believes that had she not left her first marriage, her husband might have killed her and discarded her body. She advises women to leave at the first sign of abuse, as it often escalates.
Although Juggun did not specify how she divorced her first husband, she mentioned that she has moved on and started a new life many years ago. In 2013, she married Faisal H. Naqvi, with whom she has a son and a daughter. Jagan now has three children from her two marriages and has left her past behind.
