President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has designated July 18th as “Union Pledge Day” in the UAE, commemorating a pivotal moment in the nation’s history.
On this day in 1971, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow Rulers signed the declaration of the Union, alongside the UAE Constitution, and officially announced the country’s name.
This event marked a significant milestone towards the formation of the federation of emirates, culminating in the establishment of the UAE on December 2nd, 1971.
