UAE motorists brace for travel delays amid construction

Motorists in the United Arab Emirates are facing traffic disruptions due to ongoing road maintenance and construction projects.

Drivers in Ras Al Khaimah are advised to be cautious as two lanes leading to Khatt Roundabout on the E311 stretch will be intermittently closed for a distance of 6 kilometers. The Ras Al Khaimah Police has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while passing through the area.

To accommodate the maintenance work, traffic on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, leading to the roundabout, will be converted into a two-way road until October.

In Abu Dhabi, a major inconvenience awaits motorists as Nahyan The First Street will undergo partial closure from July 14 to August 10. This nearly month-long closure is expected to cause significant traffic congestion in the area.

Residents and commuters in both emirates are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time to avoid getting stuck in traffic. It is essential to stay updated on the latest traffic conditions through official channels like the respective traffic authorities and news outlets.

The authorities have emphasized the importance of road safety during these periods. Adhering to speed limits, maintaining safe distances, and following traffic rules are crucial to prevent accidents.
