A yellow weather alert has been issued for parts of Abu Dhabi, cautioning residents to remain vigilant when venturing outdoors.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned that rain could affect some eastern and southern areas, with wind speeds potentially reaching 40kmph.
The NCM advisory states that the yellow alert will remain in place until 7pm today. Earlier this morning, light rain was reported in Al Qou, Al Ain, around 8:47 am.
In response to the weather conditions, Abu Dhabi Police have advised drivers to exercise extra caution on the roads.
The NCM forecasts the formation of thick cumulus clouds over the UAE’s eastern and southern regions this afternoon. It remains uncertain whether these clouds will bring hail, as experienced yesterday.
Overall, today’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with low clouds covering the east coast in the morning.
Temperatures are set to be slightly lower than in recent days, with highs of 46 degrees Celsius in Abu Dhabi and 44 degrees Celsius in Dubai.
Humidity levels are expected to rise this evening and continue into Friday morning in some coastal areas. Winds will generally be light to moderate but could become active, reaching speeds of up to 40kmph. Waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to be light.
