Sharjah Taxi has announced a significant milestone in its sustainability journey, with 83% of its fleet now comprising hybrid and eco-friendly vehicles.
These taxis run on both fuel and electricity, marking a major step toward Sharjah Taxi’s goal of a 100% eco-friendly system by 2027.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader objective of adopting sustainable solutions and reducing carbon emissions. Sharjah Taxi General Manager Khalid Al-Kindi emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainable growth and fleet modernization.
“We are continuously working on developing and updating our fleet at Sharjah Taxi to support sustainable transportation solutions and provide environmentally friendly alternatives, including electric and hybrid vehicles,” Al-Kindi said.
Sharjah Taxi offers a variety of services to its passengers, including city taxi services, airport transfers, ladies’ taxis, family taxis, luxury limousines, school transportation, services for disabled people, and taxis serving the Eastern and Central regions.
This move underscores Sharjah Taxi’s commitment to environmental responsibility and enhancing the quality of life in the UAE by providing sustainable and efficient transportation options.
