The 2024 Henley & Partners Passport Index reveals a slight improvement in the strength of Indian and Pakistani passports.
India’s passport has climbed three places to rank 80th, while Pakistan’s passport has moved up one spot to 101st. Despite this improvement, both countries’ passports have weakened over the past decade. In 2014, the Indian passport was ranked 76th, and the Pakistani passport was 92nd.
The Pakistani passport remains among the weakest globally, ranking 4th worst, ahead of only Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
The Passport Index is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and other publicly available, reliable online sources. It evaluates each passport against all 227 possible travel destinations.
