Dubai expats can now renew residency visas with home medical tests

Busy expats in Dubai no longer need to visit a medical center for their residency visa renewals.

VFS Global and AMH have introduced the ‘Medical Examination Doorstep Service,’ allowing expats to complete their medical tests at home.

This premium service, available through VFS Global, caters specifically to Category A visa holders seeking to renew their residency visas. It’s an optional add-on to the standard medical examination services provided at designated centers, in line with the Emirates Health Services’ (EHS) vision of expanding services.

Booking the Service

Expats can book their medical examination appointments from the comfort of their homes or offices, either online or offline. The required documents include:

  • Passport copy
  • Residence permit/visa copy
  • One passport-sized photograph with a white background (less than three months old)
  • Emirates ID copy

To book the service:

  1. Visit the VFS Global website at https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ehs/en/are and navigate to the ‘Medical Examination At Your Doorstep’ link.
  2. Complete the online form and upload the necessary documents.
  3. Receive an email confirmation with a payment link.
  4. Upon payment completion, VFS Global will process the application and coordinate the service delivery at the chosen location.

Fees Breakdown

  • Medical test for Category A: Dh 261.86
  • Form Filling Medical: Dh 52
  • VFS Service Fee: Dh 110
  • Doorstep Service: Dh 426.15
  • Total: Dh 850.01 (including VAT)

Service Launch and Partnership

Atul Marwah, Chief Operating Officer for Medical Services and Special Projects at VFS Global, expressed delight over the partnership with AMH. “This initiative aligns perfectly with VFS Global’s commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences and reflects EHS’ vision for a more accessible and convenient healthcare system,” Marwah said. “We believe this service will be a valuable addition for expat residents in Dubai and other emirates seeking to renew their visas.”

Buthaina A. Khoory, CEO at AMH, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the convenience the service brings. “This extension of our collaboration streamlines the medical examination process for expat visa holders, allowing them to complete this requirement from the comfort of their homes or offices,” Khoory said. “This aligns with AMH’s commitment to providing accessible and efficient healthcare solutions.”

VFS Global also operates two physical Medical Examination Centres for EHS, located in Ibn Battuta Mall and Dragon Mart 2, offering additional options for expats.
