Two young Emirati children lost their lives in a horrific house fire that broke out early Tuesday morning in Fujairah. The victims, an 8-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother, were unable to escape the blaze that engulfed their home in the Al Tuwiyain area.
Firefighters responded swiftly to the emergency call received at 2:00 am. Upon arrival, they swiftly secured the scene and tended to the injured. A 5-year-old child from the same family was found to be seriously hurt and rushed to Dibba Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities. Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Fujairah Civil Defence Department, highlighted the importance of fire safety precautions as the summer season heats up.
“With rising temperatures, air conditioners and refrigerators will be working overtime, placing a strain on electrical systems,” Al Tunaiji cautioned. He urged residents to prioritize electrical safety by ensuring proper maintenance of electrical lines and avoiding overloaded circuits.
Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander in Chief of Fujairah Police, expressed his deepest condolences to the grieving family. He also offered well wishes for a full recovery to the injured child.
