Irfan Pathan, the renowned Indian former fast bowler and current commentator, has announced the tragic death of his personal makeup artist, Fayaz Ansari, who drowned in a swimming pool in the West Indies.
Pathan, who is in the Caribbean to cover the T20 World Cup 2024, disclosed this heart-wrenching news, leaving his family and friends in deep turmoil.
Fayaz Ansari, originally from Nagina in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, had moved to Mumbai 22 years ago, where he established his salon. It was there that he first met Irfan Pathan, who later made Ansari his personal makeup artist, bringing him along on numerous international trips.
Mohammad Ahmed, Ansari’s cousin, provided more details about the incident. The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is currently underway in the USA and West Indies, with the Super 8 matches being held in the Caribbean. Pathan, part of the commentary team, had taken Ansari with him. On the evening of June 21, Ansari tragically drowned in a hotel swimming pool, leaving his family devastated.
Ansari had recently married just two months ago and had returned to Mumbai from Nagina only eight days prior to the incident. His sudden death has plunged his family into profound grief, with his wife and relatives inconsolable.
Irfan Pathan is personally handling all the formalities in the West Indies to ensure Ansari’s body is brought back to India. The family expects to receive the body in Delhi within three to four days. This tragic loss has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the unpredictable and fragile nature of life.
