Dubai has been named the world’s most picturesque city to explore at night, topping a recent study conducted by Travelbag.
This holiday company, known for creating personalized long-haul travel experiences, analyzed factors such as Instagram hashtags, light and noise pollution levels, and safety ratings for walking alone at night across 136 cities worldwide.
The study highlighted Dubai’s stunning night-time views, with the Instagram hashtag ‘#dubaiatnight’ boasting over 27,387 tags. This showcases the city’s captivating evening scenes, particularly along Sheikh Zayed Road and the Marina waterfront.
“Dubai’s night-time transformation is truly mesmerizing. As night falls, Sheikh Zayed Road, with its towering skyscrapers and dynamic cityscape, becomes a glowing corridor,” said Fozil Rakhimov, an Uzbek tourist who frequently visits Dubai. He added, “The Marina waterfront is adorned with countless lights from luxury yachts, restaurants, and high-rise apartments, creating a magical effect.”
In addition to its visual appeal, Dubai also ranks high in safety, placing fourth globally with a safety score of 83.4 out of 100. This ensures that visitors can enjoy the city’s beauty without concerns. Travelbag’s findings underscore Dubai’s unique combination of safety and ambiance, making it a premier destination for night exploration.
Dubai’s strong safety rating is attributed to its well-developed infrastructure, including well-lit streets and public areas, extensive security measures, and responsive law enforcement and emergency services. The city’s strict regulations and law enforcement contribute to a low crime rate, enhancing the overall safety perceptions among visitors.
Zsuzsa Vinczeller, a tourist who visited Dubai, expressed her admiration for the city, saying, “I’m very grateful that I had the chance to visit Dubai. It has its own beauty, as every city does. The architecture of some buildings is incredible. Everyone I talked to, from taxi drivers to office workers, loves Dubai and would love to stay there long term, so that must mean something.”
Social media is flooded with photos and videos of Dubai’s night-time beauty, with many residents and tourists sharing their experiences. Regines Blog, an Instagram user, was particularly impressed by the Dubai Marina’s skyline at night, posting, “Dubai – Marina Harbour – beautiful skyline in the nighttime.”
