The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a yellow alert for dust across the UAE on Monday, June 10th.
The warning comes as visibility is expected to decrease due to dusty conditions. Motorists have been advised to exercise caution on the roads and to avoid distractions while driving.
The Abu Dhabi Police Department has specifically urged drivers to be alert and to refrain from using their phones behind the wheel.
While most of the country will experience fair to partly cloudy skies, there is a chance of scattered showers in some eastern and southern areas in the afternoon. These showers are expected to be brief and isolated.
Temperatures are forecast to reach highs of 47°C in inland areas, with high humidity levels. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and to avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
The weather advisory comes just one day after the NCM issued an orange alert for rain and strong winds on Sunday, June 9th. The orange alert level indicates that residents should be prepared for potentially hazardous weather conditions.
