Sharjah has declared the Eid Al Adha holiday dates for public sector employees. The break will commence on June 15 and extend until June 18.
Combined with the Friday weekend, this provides Sharjah government employees with a five-day holiday.
Earlier, the Dubai government announced similar holiday dates for its public sector employees, starting from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18, with official duties resuming on Wednesday, June 19.
Abu Dhabi has also aligned with this schedule, offering the same holiday period for its public sector workers.
The holiday circular notes exceptions for employees in authorities, departments, and institutions involved in shift work or public service roles. These organizations will determine working hours based on operational needs to ensure smooth functioning during the holiday period.
The Federal Authority of Human Resources confirmed the holiday dates for the public sector from June 15 to June 18. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) announced the same dates for the private sector after the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah 1445 was sighted from Abu Dhabi on Friday, June 7.
Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam, falls on June 15 (Dhul Hijjah 9), followed by the three-day Eid Al Adha celebration from June 16 to 18 (Dhul Hijjah 10 to 12). This results in a four-day holiday for both sectors.
