From road trips to staycations: UAE residents gear up for Eid holidays

Eid Al Adha is just around the corner, and UAE residents are ready to celebrate with family and friends. With the four-day break from June 16th to 19th, many are planning exciting getaways, with travel distances ranging from short hops to epic adventures.

Some residents are planning ambitious road trips! Mohammed Abunael, a resident of Abu Dhabi, is eager to explore Oman’s Salalah region, a 2,600-kilometer round trip journey. “We just got a new SUV and wanted to take a road trip,” Abunael shared. “Salalah’s pleasant weather at the start of the Khareef season makes it perfect for us.”

Exploring the UAE’s Gems:

While Salalah is a popular choice, others are opting to discover hidden gems within the UAE. This allows them to experience new landscapes and avoid large crowds.

For those seeking a more relaxed celebration, staycations at resorts in nearby emirates are a popular option. Families from Sharjah, for example, can book a getaway at a Ras Al Khaimah resort, just 130 kilometers away.

Family at the Heart of the Celebrations:

No matter the destination, spending quality time with loved ones remains a top priority for most residents. Syed Fazal, from Dubai, explains, “Eid is all about family. This year, we’ll be celebrating with close relatives at my brother’s new mansion in Kalba.” With children eagerly planning games and outfits, Fazal highlights the importance of creating lasting memories together.

Celebrating and Exploring:

The upcoming Eid Al Adha break offers UAE residents a chance to celebrate with family and friends, whether they choose to embark on adventurous road trips, discover hidden corners of the UAE, or simply relax at a resort. One thing’s for sure – it’s a time for creating special moments!
