Members of the Sharjah Consultative Council’s Committee of Islamic Affairs recently visited the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department to acknowledge its significant role in promoting virtuous Islamic values and Arab culture within the community.
Led by Engineer Jamila Al-Fandi Al-Shamsi, the committee commended the department’s efforts in caring for mosques, activating their mission, and addressing Islamic affairs in the emirate.
During the visit, the committee discussed various issues related to mosque care and explored ways to enhance the department’s operations. They highlighted the department’s dedication to serving mosques and ensuring their upkeep and cleanliness, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yaroof Al Sabousi, Head of the Islamic Affairs Department, expressed gratitude to the committee members for their engagement and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to serving the community. He emphasized the mosque’s role as a beacon of knowledge and education, providing guidance on Islamic principles and values.
The committee praised the department’s efforts in reinforcing societal values and cohesion through a moderate Islamic vision. They underscored the importance of understanding the department’s programs and plans to support its outreach activities and enhance the role of imams in the community.
The visit served as part of the committee’s preparations to discuss the department’s policies during an upcoming session, highlighting the collaborative efforts to promote Islamic values and strengthen community bonds in Sharjah.
