Dubai is once again pushing the boundaries of innovation and luxury with the construction of the world’s largest airport, Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA).
The airport, set to open soon, will boast an array of futuristic features, including the world’s largest sun canopy and a tropical forest.
Visitors at the Airport Show in Dubai were given a sneak peek into the airport’s design and features, which promise to redefine the travel experience. The airport will have its own transport system, mini-forests, green zones, entertainment hub, and a wide range of food, beverage, and retail options.
According to Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP), the design of the new passenger terminal is centered around sustainability and innovation.
The airport will feature an elevated rail or automated people mover (APM) system that will transport passengers through an indoor tropical forest, complete with giant LED screens projecting various landscapes and marine habitats.
The airport’s design prioritizes passenger comfort, recreation, and mobility, with the goal of providing a unique and enjoyable experience for travelers. “DWC is designed to give passengers comfort, recreation, and mobility at the highest level,” said DAEP in a video showcasing the airport’s features.
The Airport Show, which ends today, has provided a platform for industry experts to showcase the latest technologies and innovations in airport design and management. With AMIA, Dubai is set to once again raise the bar for airport excellence and luxury.
